Enchanted Kingdom awards & recognizes Los Baños Senior Citizens

Enchanted Kingdom treated Senior Citizens from Los Banos to a day filled with laughter and singing as its way of paying tribute to the elderly. What better way to celebrate and recognize senior citizens than a magical day at the first and only world-class theme park in the country.

 

The Recognition and Appreciation of the Senior Citizens was made more special by the inspiring messages from speakers Mr. Jose Francisco Reyna, Head of Park Operations, Enchanted Kingdom; Hon. Neil Andrew Nocon, Board Member 2nd District of Laguna and Cong. Edgar San Luis, House of Representative 4th District.

Pinoy to head biggest amusement association

Enchanted Kingdom owner Mario Mamon acknowledges promotional tie-up with Ocean Park Hong Kong during the launch of Ocean Park's Christmas Sensation: Santa Festival at Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City on …November 8.

A Filipino businessman has been selected to head the largest amusement industry trade association in the world.

Enchanted Kingdom (EK) owner Mario Mamon is the first Asian ever chosen to head the US-based International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).

"He will be assuming as vice chairman first this week in America, which will last until November next year," EK vice president Cynthia Mamon said.

"His term as chairman will start in November next year and will last until 2014," she added.

Based in Virginia, IAAPA represents over 4,000 member organizations from all kinds of amusement centers including theme parks, museums, even mini-golf courses in 93 countries.

The world-wide association was created to increase operations while promoting developments in professional and safety standards implemented in family fun centers and amusement parks.

Mamon, who is also president of Philippine Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (PhilAAPA), said his position may help improve the entertainment and leisure industry in the country.

He explained the IAAPA's high standards and influence will contribute in boosting the country's tourism by improving PhilAAPA member's professional and safety standards.

PhilAAPA, which is composed of about 25 members like Star City, Manila Ocean Park, SM amusement centers, and The Mind Museum, has been working with Senator Aquilino "Koko Pimentel for a guideline on safety practices for amusement parks.

Mamon's Enchanted Kingdom, which entertains around 1.5 million visitors every year, has been the country's premiere theme park since its establishment in 1995.
